But in earlier days the cinema was not like much and never as a career. Dadasaheb Phalke's contributed to films like Raja Harishchandra and Pather Panchali during that period. It was completely different. It seemed as if Dada Saheb Phalke was made for filming. In his creation, Dada Saheb Phalke was a creative artist trained by the JJ School of Art. She was an experienced leader of the stage.

He was born on 30 April 1870 in Nashik, known for Jyotirlinga Trimbakeshwar. His father was a Sanskrit scholar. He was a professor at Elphinstone College, Mumbai. Dadasaheb was educated in Mumbai. It is only on 25 December 1891. The original foreign film Life of Christ was shown at the US-India theater in Mumbai. Dadasaheb was watching it. While watching the movie, he was shown great personalities like Krishna, Ram, Samarth Guru Ramdas, Shivaji, Sant Tukaram, along with Jesus Christ.

He produced the first non-dialogue film, Raja Harishchandra. In this, his son was also given a role whose name was Bhalchandra Phalke. Dadasaheb was the hero and Rohitashwa was played by his 7-year-old son Bhalchandra Phalke. The film was first screened at the Coronation Theater in December 1912. After the film, Dadasaheb also produced the legendary film Bhasmasur and Mohin and Savitri. Dada Saheb Phalke brought inspiring characters to life on the screen of the film, giving an example to people from these characters in society. He has also named the prestigious film award. The Dadasaheb Phalke Award, the biggest honor of the film world, is such a prestigious award that has different importance in the field of film.

It is given to the artist for his contribution to cinema. The government also issued a stamp in his name. Dadasaheb Phalke worked in the Archaeological Survey of India department but also opened his own printing press. He brought the machine to Germany and not only published a monthly magazine, but later he got involved in filmmaking. He also did a course in filmmaking from JJ Arts College. He died on 16 February 1944. Born in Nashik, Dadasaheb also took his last breath in Nashik.
