Dalit children were being forced to offer Christian prayer! Suddenly the NCPCR team arrived

Katni: A case of forced Christian prayers has come to light at a children's home run by a missionary organization in Katni, Madhya Pradesh. After which a case has been registered against the organization under the Child Justice Act and Madhya Pradesh Freedom of Religion Act. National Commission for Protection of Child Rights (NCPCR) chairperson Priyank Kanoongo has lodged an FIR against the Christian body at Madhavnagar police station. At the same time, the role of the District Child Protection Unit and Child Welfare Committee in this case is also being questioned.

According to the report, Priyank Kanoongo informed the media about the matter. He informed that NCPCR had received complaints about the children's home operating at Jhinjhari in Katni. After which NCPCR made a surprise inspection of the educational institution run by Christian missionaries. During this, the children told them that Hindu, Scheduled Caste and Tribe (SC-ST) children were forced to offer Christian prayers. Even on the occasion of Deepawali, children were forced to offer Christian prayers.

The surprise inspection also revealed that fake documents of children were made, the age of the children was manipulated. Along with this, the children said that children who do not attend Christian prayers are also discriminated against. They are not given treatment when they fall ill and they are not even included in sports. The NCPCR chairman further informed that the Special Juvenile Police has recorded the statement of the children and a case has also been registered in this regard.

According to the report, the role of the district child protection unit officer in this entire episode is being said to be suspicious. Priyank Kanoongo said that the officer had leaked information about the confidential investigation and children had also complained against the same officer. Also, the activities of the local child welfare committee are also suspicious, which will be investigated. Four children and one adult have recorded their statements against the institution. It has also been revealed that the missionary has received money from abroad. Reports also link it to conversion. Police say that the case is being investigated on the basis of the information given by the children.
