Raipur: A dangerous fire broke out at a State Bank of India (SBI) ATM adjacent to the Budhapara-Sadar Bazar area of Chhattisgarh's capital Raipur. The fire spread rapidly on sight. Nearby shops had to be evacuated due to the fire. On receiving the information, two fire engines reached the spot and started extinguishing the fire. A police team was also present at the spot. The police had blocked the road. The cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained. It is also not known how much cash was in the ATM. The incident of arson took place in the Kotwali police station area. According to the news received, the State Bank of India management has been informed about the incident by the police department. Traffic was stopped after the fire broke out at the ATM. The incident of arson in the middle of the city caused a stir in the residential areas. The fire brigade team soon brought the fire under control. After the fire, the police closed the electronic and book stalls located next to the ATM. There were more shops around, if the fire increased, there could have been a big loss. The fire did not increase and there was no damage, so the nearby shops were closed and the power supply was also stopped. The same BHIM ATM in the Budhapara-Sadar Bazar area was seen emitting smoke in the afternoon. Soon there was a dangerous fire. People in the vicinity informed the fire department. By the time the fire engines reached, the ATM was burnt to ashes by the massive fire. The fire was brought under control soon. It is not known how the fire broke out. How much cash was in the ATM will be known only after investigation by the bank management.
