Will KL Rahul open in Asia Cup 2022?

New Delhi: After the T20 series between Team India and the West Indies, Team India is scheduled to enter the Asia Cup, but it will still depend on the head coach Rahul Dravid and captain Rohit Sharma to find the right team. Deepak Hooda may have been able to perform brilliantly on limited occasions, but with the return of KL Rahul and Virat Kohli, he will not be in the top 3. However, the spot may be difficult for Shreyas Iyer, who is struggling with his form.

Deepak Hooda and Shreyas Iyer have only two chances ahead of the Asia Cup, while Virat Kohli will make it straight into the team, but it will be a tough one for KL Rahul even after regaining full match fitness. That's what former Pakistan spinner Danish Kaneria has said. Rahul is also not present for the ODI series against Zimbabwe. In such a situation, it is difficult to be directly in the final XI of the Asia Cup.

Danish Kaneria said on his YouTube channel, "KL Rahul is a player who can play at any place. He is a fantastic fielder, who can also do wicketkeeping. However, he has not played any international matches since the injury. I have kept KL Rahul on standby because he hasn't played after injury. You can't start in such a big tournament after a long break with him. So give him some time till the T20 World Cup.''
