Danish Sait says that even if there was no lockdown, he would have had an intimate wedding

The actor, television personality and funnyman Danish Sait says he couldn’t be happier in life. “We always had this date of June 10 in mind for our wedding and were keen that we have an intimate wedding; it’d have been the case even if there was no lockdown. Also, over the past year, all of us have had so much time to realise what truly matters in life. My priorities have changed. While I enjoy my work, what gives me true happiness is being in the midst of my loved ones. Anya has brought so much joy into my life. But we’re both not the type to post personal pictures on social media. The only time I did put up a picture was when I proposed to her,” he says.

The wedding, which saw 15 people in attendance — “out of which two were Anya and I” — was Anya’s father’s idea. “Both of us have such close friends that the list went from 20 to 200 and back to 20. Anya’s father was instrumental in helping us sort this issue out and we are so thankful to him. A close friend Mohit did all our pictures. Since it was just a handful of us, we did everything by ourselves: from placing flowers to overseeing the decor. It was just so endearing,” observes Danish.

He shares how when the toast was raised at their big day, everyone said they always liked Danish, but after Anya, they love him more. “I agree. She just makes me a better person,” he says. We ask him if she’d come online to speak, to which Danish says, “she’s incredibly shy.” Anya, a graphic designer and yoga enthusiast, is now the darling of his family and friends. So, has the ‘married man’ tag sunk in yet? “Totally. And I love it. We are now all set to go home to our cats,” he signs off.
