Darrang police seized two trucks loaded with cattle heads

Darrang Police in Dalgaon confiscated two pickup trucks filled with cow heads on Monday. Two trucks were confiscated during normal checks, according to police sources, because they had illegally loaded a few cows. According to the police, five people were held beside the trucks because they lacked valid documents linked to the cattle heads.

The cows were purchased at a market in Dhekiajuli and were scheduled to be resold in Dalgaon, but there were no paperwork or permits the police said.

According to the authorities, the cars lacked a cattle or livestock permit. All of the people were imprisoned, and the cows and cars were taken. The detainees are being interrogated by police to see whether they have any ties to smuggling organisations.

Two other people were arrested in Guwahati's Jorabat on the same day. A mini-truck filled with five live cow heads was seized along with the accused.
