New Delhi: Farmers' on Delhi borders continues in protest against 3 agricultural laws brought by the central government. Meanwhile, the body of a farmer involved in a demonstration at the Kundli Singhu border in Sonepat on Wednesday was found hanging. The deceased farmer is said to be Gurpreet Singh. He was a resident of Fatehgarh Sahib in Punjab. Gurpreet Singh reportedly lived in Roorkee village under Amroh tehsil of Fatehgarh Sahib. He was associated with the Bharatiya Kisan Union Siddhapur. However, it is not yet clear whether he was murdered or committed suicide. The Kundli police station is investigating from both angles. Police have seized the body and sent it for postmortem. Police say the exact cause of death will be known only after the postmortem report. However, where thousands of farmers are present and there is a day-and-night activity, such an incident is shocking in itself. The question also arises whether the farmers in the movement did not notice if Gurpreet was killed. And if he committed suicide, what could be the reason behind it? Heinous cases of rape and murder have been reported at the movement site before.
