Deadly Train Station Blast in Quetta, Pakistan Claims 13 Lives, Leaves 25 Injured

QUETTA, Pakistan – Tragedy struck Quetta's main railway station on Saturday when a powerful bomb blast claimed the lives of at least 13 people and injured 25 others, according to police officials. The explosion occurred just as the Peshawar-bound express train was preparing to depart, causing chaos and panic among passengers and station staff.

Senior Superintendent of Police Muhammad Baloch confirmed the incident, noting the devastating impact on the bustling station. "The blast happened inside the station as the train was set to leave for its destination," he stated, adding that emergency services quickly responded to assist the wounded.

The recent bombing in Quetta adds to Pakistan’s ongoing security challenges, as the country faces an increase in militant activities, particularly in the northwest, alongside a growing separatist movement in the south. Despite heightened security measures, these attacks have become more frequent, impacting both civilians and infrastructure.

So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the explosion. Authorities have intensified investigations to determine those behind the attack and to prevent further incidents.
