Due to the Coronavirus, sports activities are currently closed all over the world. The T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in Australia from October 18 this year and the shadow of the coronavirus is also hovering over it. The International Cricket Council (ICC) and Cricket Australia (CA) will hold an important meeting on Friday through a teleconference to discuss the possibility of organizing the T20 World Cup. The issue was discussed in the ICC CEOs meeting on 23 April, in which CA Chief Executive Kevin Roberts said that the situation was being closely monitored. ICC and CA are discussing all options together and it will be announced at the right time. According to the report, a similar statement is likely to be issued by the CA after the meeting on Friday. CA will take more time before taking a final decision on the event as nothing is clear yet. Australia's international borders have been closed until mid-September. The T20 World Cup is to be held from October 18 and due to this, there will be only 1 month time with the hosts. Apart from this, there is no guarantee that control over the coronavirus would have been achieved by that time. Because of this, this World Cup can also be organized in empty stadiums. In the changed circumstances, arranging so many teams within a month's time will be extremely difficult. The Government of Australia has not yet clarified its stand in this matter. There can be three possibilities: 1. With the consent of the member countries, this World Cup in Australia should be made in empty stadiums at lesser centres. 2. This World Cup should be postponed for a year and it will be held in 2021 in Australia. The scheduled T20 World Cup in India in 2021 should be held in 2022. 3. Australia should postpone this T20 World now and it should be organized in 2022.
