Minister Hardeep announces compensation for Kerala plane crash victims

Kozhikode: Air India plane coming from Dubai to India fell victim to the incident at the airport in Kozhikode, Kerala late on Friday evening. Due to heavy rains, the runway was flooded and at the time of landing the plane slipped into a deep ditch about twenty five feet. Eighteen people aboard the plane died and 127 people were injured. Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has recovered digital flight data recorder and cockpit voice recorder from the plane. They will be sent to Delhi for further investigation. Civil Aviation Minister Hardeep Singh Puri visited Kozhikode Airport. He has also announced compensation in the airplane.

Union Minister Hardeep Singh Puri has announced compensation for those injured in the airplane incident. As an interim relief to the victims of the incident, they have announced a grant of ten lakh rupees to the relatives of the deceased, two lakh rupees to the seriously injured and twenty-five thousand rupees to those who suffered minor injuries.

Let us tell you that Basudev, the cousin of the co-pilot Akhilesh Kumar, who lost his life in the Kozhikode airplane crash, has told that he was a very humble and well behaved person. His wife is going to give birth to her child in the coming 15-17 days. He joined Air India in the year 2017 and came home before the Corona lockdown. Kerala Governor Arif Mohammad Khan and CM Pinarayi Vijayan visited the Kozhikode Medical College, here, the passengers injured in the Kozhikode airplane accident are admitted.
