Deepak Mishra to become the 45th Chief Justice of SC today

New Delhi: Today the country will get new Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Deepak Mishra will now take over as the 45th Chief Justice of India. On August 8, while issuing official notifications from the Law Ministry, Mishra's appointment was announced.

Justice JS Khehar has retired on Sunday, August 27. Justice Deepak Mishra will take over as the next Chief Justice of the Supreme Court. Based on experience, he is the most senior judge after JS Khehar.

Who is Justice Deepak Mishra?

Deepak Mishra was born on October 3, 1953. Mishra has also worked as an Additional Judge of the Odisha High Court. On March 3, 1997, he became the Madhya Pradesh High Court judge. On May 24, 2010, Deepak Mishra became the Chief Justice of Delhi High Court. On 10 October 2011, he was promoted as a Judge of the Supreme Court.
