Deepika told about her political life, "It was before I became MP. When I started the contest, I remember that there were 8-10 meetings. In the morning we used to go out till 10-11-12. My sister used to be with me, who is now at baroda. All the workers were with us and we used to go out with them in the way there are 3-4 vehicles. There were many meetings one after the other." Deepika said that once in a meeting where she had to reach around 9.30 - 10.00 pm, she arrived late. Deepika said that work was very much delayed but despite this, people used to wait for her. Deepika said, "Many times we could reach till 1 pm, but despite this, around 50 thousand people used to sit there. They also used to go when they came to know. If we are coming, then they would come back and listen to us. They used to come even wearing a night dress. It was a matter of fact that I am a Baroda MP, but somewhere they had to see Sita ji.
