New Delhi: The defence ministry announced on Thursday that Defence Minister Rajnath Singh will launch DefConnect 2.0, a one-day event that will bring together start-ups, big enterprises, and armed forces personnel to foster indigenous innovation in the defence industry. The seminar is being organised by the defence ministry's Innovations for Defence Excellence-Defence Innovation Organisation (iDEX-DIO). According to a ministry statement, "The DefConnect will provide a unique opportunity for innovators linked with iDEX-DIO to demonstrate their capabilities, products, and state-of-the-art technologies to the target audience of industry leaders." It goes on to say that the start-ups will be able to use this opportunity to generate investments and leads for future operations. According to the ministry, the event will draw a large number of innovators and investors from India's leading defence industries. It will feature seminars with industry veterans, numerous announcements, and static exhibitions of a variety of start-ups backed by iDEX-DIO, according to the press release. "The event will bring together start-ups, corporations, and military representatives to identify indigenous technologies that will propel us into the future," it said.
