New Delhi: Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Monday urged to the central government to withdraw the increased goods and services tax (GST), stating that people want relief from high inflation. The Delhi Chief Minister said that the Central government has levied GST on curd, lassi, wheat, rice and other food items, adding that "the British used to do the same." "People are now upset with inflation. The Central Government has imposed GST on curd, lassi, wheat, rice and other food items. In Delhi, we tried to give some relief to people from inflation," said AAP national convenor and Delhi CM Arvind Kejriwal while speaking at a press meet virtually to the people of Himachal Pradesh on Monday. In Delhi, we provided away water, electricity, and medical care. All of this is possible because we have cleansed corruption. We didn't raise any taxes. I beg the Central Government to reverse the higher GST. Make AAP the local administration in Himachal Pradesh, and we'll give you relief from inflation in exchange, stated Kejriwal. The AAP national convener added, "AAP is spreading throughout the nation, thus many challenges will arise. You shouldn't worry, though. We want you to establish a trusted government in Himachal Pradesh. We ought to advance our nation and state. In the meantime, earlier in the day, Delhi BJP officials and supporters held a protest outside the AAP's headquarters in protest of what they claimed were irregularities in the way the Arvind Kejriwal government had implemented its excise policy. Police reportedly interrupted the protesters' march toward the AAP office at DDU Marg after they had reportedly gathered in the national capital's ITO area. A CBI investigation against the Delhi Excise Policy 2021–22 was recently suggested by Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena due to alleged rule violations and procedural errors. The excise minister "took and got implemented key choices in contravention of the statutory provisions" and notified the Excise Policy that had "great financial repercussions," according to the LG, which has found "substantive signs" of "financial quid pro quo" at the "highest political level."
