New Delhi: Health workers are now reeling under heavy statistics as corona's new variant Omicron's case swells at a rapid pace in India's capital Delhi, posing a deep risk of shortage of health workers in hospitals to overcome the possible third wave of the corona. A corona blast has occurred at AIIMS Hospital in Delhi where 200 health workers have reported corona infection in the last 24 hours. In the last 1 week alone, about 400 health workers have been confirmed to have the virus. All of them are presently kept in the isolation ward of the hospital campus. In fact, according to media reports, more than 1,200 health workers in other hospitals in the capital have been affected by the coronavirus in the last 1 week. In many departments, up to 70 per cent of doctors have been infected. However, in view of this, Lady Hardinge Hospital has directed corona infected health workers to start the work of the hospital without checking after 5 days of isolation. The health situation has been rocked by the doctors' corona infected figures. While the rest of the hospitals have also come under alert mode in this regard. They are following the corona guidelines in a systematic manner. More than 400 health workers, including about 100 doctors working in AIIMS, have been affected by corona infection. Out of which the figure of resident doctors is high. However, in some departments, more than half of the doctors are infected with corona. At present, more than half of the doctors in the neurosurgery, neurology department of AIIMS have been affected by corona.
