The Indian Railways reported significant delays for at least 26 trains due to poor visibility in the national capital. Railway authorities confirmed that adverse weather conditions had severely impacted train services in the Delhi area.

The Commission for Air Quality Management (CAQM) took action yesterday by immediately lifting Stage III of the Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) in Delhi-NCR. GRAP-III was put into effect on December 22 to address the city's worsening air quality and increasing pollution levels.

Severe Cold Grips Punjab and Haryana:
The India Meteorological Department (IMD) noted that most parts of Punjab and Haryana experienced cold to severe cold day conditions. Chandigarh registered a maximum temperature of 11.8 degrees Celsius, marking a deviation of 6.4 degrees below the normal temperature. Ambala recorded a maximum temperature of 10.8 degrees, while Hisar reached 12 degrees. In neighboring Punjab, Ludhiana and Patiala experienced temperatures of 10.6 degrees and 10.8 degrees, respectively.
