The Delhi High Court has questioned the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting on the petition of Bollywood actress Rakul Preet Singh. The Delhi High Court asked the Information and Broadcasting Ministry what action was taken against various channels violating the Cable TV Network Act in the Rhea Chakraborty drug case. Indeed, the bench of Justice Pratiba M Singh has directed the Ministry to submit a report on whatever the situation is in this regard. It is being said that during the hearing, Standing Counsel Ajay Digpal, appearing for the Central Government, told the bench that 'action has been started against the channels and advisory has been sent to many channels in this regard for the future.' Apart from this, the National Broadcasting Standing Association also told the bench that, 'After examining Rakul Preet's complaint, several orders have been issued to various member channels.' Meanwhile, the bench said, "If the petitioner has links to channels, then she can make the ministry available to take action." Meanwhile, the bench also gave a direction to the Ministry in which it was asked to file a status report regarding the action taken against the channels within the next six weeks. Now the court adjourned the hearing till May 20 with the said instructions. Advocate Aman Hingorani, appearing on behalf of the petitioner in the case, said that the ministry should take action against non-NBCA members and some links circulated by media channels should be removed. Apart from this, he also said that 'the petitioner cannot provide the links related to it and the Ministry should take action by gathering this information from the channel at its own level.'
