Delhi High Court to Sushil: Have you won anything since August 2014?

NEW DELHI: Wednesday, the Delhi High Court asked double Olympic Medalist Sushil Kumar,  Have you won any sporting event since August 2014? Reportedly, Sushil who has challenged his 'exclusion' from the Rio contingent. Justice Manmohan asked when Kumar claimed that he deserves to be a part of wrestling team, "Are you in form after August 2014, that is the question. You haven't been active for one and a half to two years. Have you won any tournament?" Senior advocate Amit Sibal respond, appearing for Sushil, explained to the court that being a champion wrestler who won medal at Olympics, the player didn't participate in every other tournament due to the threat of burn-out. He added that in 2015 Sushil was injured and was forced to skip tournaments.

At the time of hearing, HC also observed that grappler Narsingh Yadav was not a 'pushover' to represent India in Rio 2016 and reminded Sushil Kumar that the policy he was faulting was the same that enabled him in the past to make it to the Olympics thrice.
