Building like Hawa Mahal being built in Delhi for two months, MSD said, 'Stop work, or...'

New Delhi: The owner of a building that is becoming a center of attraction on the market road in Chandni Chowk, the business hub of the country's capital, Delhi, has started removing its Rajasthani artwork. However, while applying, the aim was to make people aware of culture and heritage, while the North Delhi Municipal Corporation warned of demolition saying there was no tampering in the building.

Without changing any structural change, its owner was immediately asked to remove Rajasthani artwork and that notice was served to the owner by the Northern MSD. At the same time, it was said that not only did he remove the decoration, but also bring the building back to its old shape. North MSD will take action towards not doing so and the entire building will be demolished. Before the Bulldozer of North MSD could move, the owner himself started removing the decorations.

The entire area of Chandni Chowk is a special zone under the Shahjahanabad development board. In such a situation, no tampering of buildings has been allowed. Buildings can only be repaired keeping them in their basic structure. This is so that the heritage of the old Delhi region can be preserved.
