Delhi:PM Modi holds bilateral talks with ASEAN Leaders

 

On the eve of the ASEAN-India Commemorative Summit to celebrate 25 years of India-ASEAN ties, Prime Minister Narendra Modi had separate bilateral talks with leaders of three ASEAN nations - Myanmar, Vietnam and Philippines in New Delhi.

The PM first met his Vietnamese counterpart and held talks with on issues of mutual interest. The two leaders expressed contentment at the growth of bilateral relations between the two nations within the framework of Comprehensive Strategic ties, as well as in the fields of maritime cooperation in the Indo-Pacific region, defense, oil and gas, trade and investment.

Next, PM Modi met the Philipino President and talked about a wide range of subjects. The two leaders reviewed the progress in bilateral relations and in global and regional situation since their meeting in Manila in November 2017.

Myanmar's State Councilor also met the PM in a while in the evening and held talks and exchanged his views as they were held talks on various issues of mutual interest and ways of further strengthening bilateral relations, together with follow up on key decisions taken during the visit of the Prime Minister Modi to Myanmar in Septmber 2017.
