New Delhi: The first sentence in the North East Delhi riots case was granted on Thursday. A Kakadaduma court in Delhi has sentenced Dinesh Yadav to 5 years in jail. Advocate RCS Bhadauria of the Abhijojan paksha confirmed this. Yadav has been sentenced to 5 years imprisonment in a case of robbery and arson in a woman's house. In fact, in Bhagirathi Vihar, Gokalpuri, Delhi, there is a 70-year-old woman Manori's house, in which the court sentenced Dinesh Yadav, a resident of the same area, to five years of imprisonment for arson by looting. This is the first incident when someone has been sentenced in the horrific riots in North East Delhi. On 25 December 2020, the house of a woman named Manori was set on fire after a robbery. The rioters had even stolen their cattle. 70-year-old Manori jumped from the roof and saved her life by hiding in the house of a Hindu family. Thereafter, his family was somehow rescued by the police. The entire family was out of Delhi for 2 weeks. In the same case, the court has considered the statement of the 2 policemen as important. He said Dinesh was part of the mob that was resorting to violence. However, he did not see Dinesh burning Manori's house. However, the court said that if anyone is part of an illegal mob, he is equally responsible for the violence like the rest of the rioters. A verdict has been pronounced in another case related to riots. However, the culprits were released.
