IRCTC scam: Hearing in Delhi court today, serious allegations against Lalu family

New Delhi: Hearing in IRCTC scam case will be heard in Delhi's Rouse Avenue Court today. Earlier in the last hearing, CBI had given its opinion on framing of charges against accused Lalu Prasad Yadav, Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused. The court had clarified that both the CBI and ED cases will run separately.

Earlier, in both the cases related to this scam, Lalu and family were granted relief from the Patiala House Court, where Lalu Prasad Yadav was granted interim bail by the court in both the cases. At the same time, the court gave final relief to Tejashwi Yadav and Rabri Devi in the money laundering case till 19 January 2020. The court had said that on 19 January 2020 the papers would be sorted. It is noteworthy that on October 6, the court granted bail to Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and the remaining accused in the CBI case.

The CBI opposed the regular bail in the court, saying that this could affect the investigation. At the same time, in the money laundering case, the court granted interim bail to Rabri Devi, Tejashwi Yadav and other accused on a personal bond of one lakh each. Lalu Yadav could not appear in court citing ill health.
