Demand for Mahindra Thar is increasing rapidly

Since the launch of Mahindra Thar, this SUV has been very popular among Indian customers. You can guess its popularity from the fact that it has crossed the big figure of 2 lakh units sold in the domestic market. The latest launch Thar Rocks is also included in this sale. 

Reports say that by the end of October 2024, the total sales of Mahindra Thar and Thar Rocks are said to be 2 lakh 7 thousand 110 units. Not only this, it has been 4 years since the launch of Mahindra Thar in October 2020 and in all these years, Thar has sold a total of more than 2 lakh units. 

How many sales were made in which financial year?: Now let's talk about how much Mahindra Thar has sold according to the financial year. In the financial year 2021, Thar sold a total of 14 thousand 186 units of SUV. In the financial year 2022, Thar got a total of 37 thousand 844 customers. Along with this, in 2023, Thar sold a total of 47 thousand 108 units. In the financial year 2024, Mahindra Thar got a total of 65 thousand 246 customers, while between April and October 2025, Thar and Thar Rocks got a total of 42 thousand 726 new customers. 

Powertrain of Mahindra Thar: Talking about the powertrain of Mahindra Thar, it is being offered with three powertrain options. This SUV is also being offered with a 2.0-liter mStallion turbo petrol engine with TGDi. Both manual and automatic transmissions are being offered with this engine. This engine produces 112 kW of power. This car generates 300 Nm of torque with manual transmission and 320 Nm of torque with automatic transmission.

Mahindra Thar is also being offered with a 1.5-liter mHawk turbo diesel engine. This engine produces 87.2 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque. This SUV also comes with the option of a 2.2-liter mHawk turbo diesel, which generates 97 kW of power and 300 Nm of torque.
