Davis Cup team for India announced, Saketh Myneni back to the team

New Delhi: Saketh Myneni has returned to the Indian squad for the Davis Cup. Saketh Myneni, who is capable of playing singles and doubles matches, has made a comeback on Monday for a Group 1 match against Pakistan. The All India Tennis Association (AITA) has not made any surprise selection in the team. The selection of top singles and doubles players was almost certain. While Prajesh Guneshwaran and Ramkumar Ramanathan will lead India's challenge in singles, Rohan Bopanna and Divij Sharan will pair the doubles in the match on Grass Court in Islamabad on September 14-15.

The five-member committee led by Rohit Rajpal, who is the next best Indian player in the rankings, was chosen by the five-member committee led by Rohit Rajpal for not playing Sumit Nagle due to injury. Young and talented Shashi Kumar Mukund has been selected as a reserved member. Rajpal and Balram Singh attended the meeting while Jishan Ali and Nandan Bal joined through teleconference.

Myneni did not play in India's last match when India hosted Italy on the Grass Court of Calcutta South Club last year and the team suffered a 1-3 defeat. Minnie last played in September 2018 when India visited Serbia for the World Group play-offs. The pair of Myneni and Bopanna then suffered a straight-sets defeat against the pair of Nikola Milosevic and Danielo Petrovich.
