Dhawan and Pujara played well in first day of the opening Test against Sri Lanka

The first day of the opening Test was yesterday played between Srilanka and India at the Galle International Stadium. The Indian cricket team chose to bat first though they lost opener Abhinav Mukund early, Dhawan and Pujara performed well.

Dhawan replaced Murali Vijay and made 190 runs with a monstrous 253-run stand second-wicket partnership.India finish the day at 399-3.

This is the second highest total that India has posted in a single day of a Test in their history, while it was their highest total in away Tests.
