WHO chief in quarantine after coming in contact with COVID-19 infected person

Geneva: World Health Organization (WHO) Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus has quarantined himself after coming into contact with a man infected with the coronavirus. Tedros Adhonom Ghebreyis on Sunday gave information about this on Twitter.

Director-General Tedros Adhonom Ghebreyes wrote in a tweet, "I have been identified as a contact of someone who has tested positive for #COVID19. I am well and without symptoms but will self-quarantine over the coming days, in line with @WHO protocols, and work from home." The Director General of WHO said that it is very important to follow the health guidelines in the midst of the corona virus epidemic so that we can prevent its infection from spreading and reduce the burden on health workers.

Tedros Adhonom Ghebreyesi further stated, "I and my colleagues in the World Health Organization (WHO) will continue to work together with my colleagues to save people's lives and protect the disadvantaged sections."
