Disciplinary Crackdown: Officials Dismissed Over Misuse of Power and Corruption by Yogi Govt

Lucknow: On December 6, the Yogi Adityanath Government took significant disciplinary actions against several officials accused of misuse of power, negligence in work, and corruption. Among those dismissed from service was the Consolidation Officer Anuj Saxena in Muzaffarnagar, charged with not fulfilling his duties.

The government also decided to withhold the annual salary increment of Consolidation Officer Shiv Shankar Prasad Singh, posted at Ballia, and terminated the service of Assistant Consolidation Officer Manoj Kumar Neeraj in Meerut. An FIR was directed to be filed against the latter, with the state police involved.

Consolidation Commissioner GS Naveen Kumar addressed the media, stating that disciplinary proceedings had been initiated against Assistant Consolidation Officer Nitin Chauhan of Amroha. Additionally, departmental action was taken against Consolidation Officer Awadhesh Kumar Gupta and Assistant Consolidation Officers Santosh Kumar Yadav and Akhilesh Kumar for alleged irregularities in work at Bani village in the Etawah district. Consolidation Officer Om Narayan of Lekhpal was also suspended.

Naveen Kumar emphasized that all consolidation authorities in the state were directed to fulfill their official responsibilities properly, and failure to do so would result in strict action. He reported that 1,34,425 cases had been disposed of in the financial year 2023-24, and the consolidation process for 231 villages had been completed and promulgated under Section 52(1) of the Land Consolidation Act.

In parallel with the Consolidation Department, the Electricity Department witnessed actions against the alleged misuse of power. Following CM Yogi Adityanath's zero-tolerance policy, SDO Aman Tiwari of Sarosa Fatehganj was suspended on December 5. Accusations included misusing his position and embezzling funds, as well as allowing electricity theft and violating rules related to connections. This move reflects the government's commitment to transparency and accountability in public service.
