Balrampur: BJP has fielded the youngest Zilla panchayat member Aarti Tiwari as its candidate for the post of Zilla panchayat president in Balrampur district of Uttar Pradesh. While the Samajwadi Party (SP) has given a ticket to Kiran Yadav, daughter-in-law of its former block chief Vijay Yadav. Two parties are seen facing each other for the post of Zilla panchayat president. While BSP which is led by former MP Rizwan Zaheer has not yet opened its cards. The BJP has fielded 21-year-old Aarti Tiwari, its youngest Zilla panchayat member from Ward No.17 Chaudharydih, as its candidate for the post of Zilla panchayat president. Aarti's uncle Shyam Manohar was nominated when the BJP released its supported candidates. But in an upset ahead of the election, Aarti's uncle Shyam Manohar gave a ticket to his niece Aarti. After which Aarti won with overwhelming public support, defeating her nearest rival by nearly 8,500 votes. Aarti is only 21 years old and is a BA third-year student at MLK PG College and is studying. In such a situation, it is an important achievement for her to win the election of a zilla panchayat member and elect his name for the post of zilla panchayat president. Though BJP president Pradeep Singh announced Aarti Tiwari's name, Aarti was not brought to the media even at that time. The question arises whether Aarti is being elected as Zilla panchayat president by making her just a face.
