DMK's MK Stalin and Kanimozhi courted arrest during Cauvery protests in Tamil Nadu

Chennai: On Friday, During the ongoing shutdown in state, DMK leader Kanimozhi was detained and MK Stalin courted arrest during protests in Tamil Nadu over the Cauvery water dispute with Karnataka.

Ms Kanimozhi, DMK parliamentarian, along with a large group of opposition parties, joined a "rail roko" in Chennai and attempted to stop trains.

Due to the State-wide shutdown in tamil Nadu; schools, colleges and shops are closed, also private buses and autos are off the roads, even petrol pumps are also shut.

After the Supreme Court directed the state government to release 15,000 cusecs of Cauvery water to Tamil Nadu, the massive protests erupted in Karnataka, especially on the streets of Bengaluru and Mysuru on Monday.
