Donald Trump supporters clash with police, 1 dead

Washington DC: A mob of Donald Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on Wednesday in an attempt to thwart lawmakers from performing their constitutional duty.  In the horrifying incident, The protests led to several people being injured, a lockdown of the Capitol building and evacuation of the Congressional buildings.

According to the news agency AFP, Supporters of trump clashed with the police, attempting to gain access to the US Capitol building while the Congress debated an objection to Arizona's Electoral College votes. The Senate proceedings were halted as Trump supporters attempted to storm the Capitol. According to the two officials familiar with the matter who spoke to The Associated Press, In this incident, a  woman who was shot inside the US Capitol died. The Metropolitan Police Department said it was taking the lead on the shooting investigation. Police did not immediately provide details about the circumstances of the shooting.

Reacting to the incident, Biden said, Today is a reminder, a painful one, that democracy is fragile. To preserve it requires people of goodwill, leaders with the courage to stand up, who are devoted not to pursuit of power and personal interest at any cost, but to the common good."
