Indore reports another crime on Friday. A woman complained at the Hira Nagar police station that her husband, an assistant postal officer posted in Goa, assaulted and harassed her for dowry to such an extent that it resulted in abortion of her five-month pregnancy. According to police, the victim Priya Bajve has registered a complaint against her husband Rahuland brother-in-law who is a locomotive driver in Nagpur and her in-laws. Police said that Priya married Rahul in March 2019 and started living in Nagpur with him. She alleged that after 15 days of marriage her in-laws and husband started torturing her. Priya told police that in April 2019 she got pregnant. The couple shifted to Goa. She alleged that even though she was pregnant her husband forced her to have intercourse. Her husband also allegedly demanded Rs 10 lakh dowry from her and frequented assaulted her. To save herself from him, Priya came back to Nagpur at her in-law's home in August 2019. But here she was harassed by her mother-in-law Rekha Bai after which she came to Indore, police said. Police said that in her complaint Priya said that when she came to Indore she was five months pregnant but her condition was not good enough to give birth to an infant due to which doctors suggested abortion. Her husband did not give consent to her abortion. Somehow, doctors took the consent of Priya's parents and aborted the baby and saved her life.
