Our favourite medical group is back! The drama has confirmed its production for a third season, according to a source from SBS, and we will be able to meet the actors very soon thanks to renewal, the source said on September 15. The principal cast for "Dr Romantic 3" has also been made public. For the third time, Han Suk Kyu will reprise his title role of Boo Yong Joo. Actors Ahn Hyo Seop and Lee Sung Kyung, who previously portrayed Seo Woo Jin and Cha Eun Jae in the show's second season, will also return in those roles. Along with this, the cast will remain the same as it did during the last season, with director Yoo In Suk and scriptwriters Kang Eun Kyung and Lim Hye Min filling out the appropriate duties. Yoo Yeon Seok, Seo Hyun Jin, and Dr Kim Sabu, aka Han Suk Kyu, were all featured in the first season, but the major characters were switched in the second. Since the show's initial run in 2016 and its successful comeback in 2020, fans have been waiting for a new season to air. Both seasons have substantial space for story growth and received good audience figures. The production team said, “‘Dr. Romantic’ received great love from viewers every season. Although two years have passed, the production team and actors will do their best to prepare for the return of the many people who still remember and are waiting for ‘Dr. Romantic’.” It is currently known that the show will start production soon and that it will premiere in 2023.
