The Central Crime Branch has detained Kannada film star Ragini Dwivedi on Friday, September 4. According to media reports, police arrived at the actress' home at around 6:30 a.m. and searched her Yelahanka residence in connection with the drug case. Pictures taken by the police in Ragini's car for investigation have surfaced on social media. Two police cars arrived at her residence this morning. She did not appear before the CCB for interrogation on Thursday. Meanwhile, Ragini's friend and an alleged drug peddler Ravi Shankar have also been arrested and are being questioned in the drug racket case. On Thursday, Bengaluru Joint Commissioner of Police Sandeep Patil said in a statement to the media, "We have arrested Ravi Shankar after receiving evidence that he was using drugs. We have detained him for five days to probe the entire matter properly." Filmmaker Inderjit Lankesh has also given a list of names of actors, directors and musicians from the film industry who are associated with the case. He also pointed out that a large number of young artists are also part of regular rave parties. Recently, the Narcotics Control Bureau conducted two raids in Bengaluru. Bengaluru police seized 96 MDMA bullets, weighing 40 grams and 180 LSD blasts. The investigation of the case is continuing.
