DU Admissions: St. Stephens releases first cut off

St. Stephens College of Delhi University has released its first cut off for admission to undergraduate courses. In most courses, including BA (Hons) Economics, the mandatory minimum mark for admission is above 99 per cent. For admission in Economics, students will have to score 99.25 per cent or more in the 12th board exam.

The cut-off for BA and Commerce stream students for the BA program is 99 per cent. The cut-off for the history program is also 99 per cent. This is higher than in the previous year. Last year the cutoff for admission to Economics and English courses was 98.75 per cent. The cut-off issued by DU is based on the maximum marks obtained in the 12th board exam. This formula is based on a language subject, the main subject, and the high marks of the remaining two subjects. The criteria may vary slightly for each subject. Students need to study the prospectus carefully before applying.

Students who match the cut-off must pass a document verification process. This year, Delhi University received the highest number of applications of 3,53,919 in the last three years. This is more than 1 lakh since last year. Last year, 2.5 lakh students applied for graduate admission. The number of students scoring more than 95 per mark in the 12th class board examinations has also doubled in CBSE this year. The competition has increased.
