New Delhi, On Friday, nine-year-old boy was killed after his bicycle was hit by a car driven by a DU assistant professor. According to the senior police official, “Nitesh, a Class VIth student, was riding his bicycle on Najafgarh road when he was hit by the car driven by Anupama, the assistant professor at Delhi University's Bhagini Nivedita College, near BDO office at around 1 PM on August 3”. Professor rushed the minor to the private hospital and later to Rao Tula Ram Memorial Hospital in Jaffarpur where the boy yield to his injuries during treatment. An FIR under sections 279 (rash driving) and 304 A (causing death by negligence) of the IPC was lodged against the professor after she surrendered herself at the Chhawla police station. Anupama was arrested and later given bail at the police station, said the officer.
