The Significance of Durga Puja

Durga Puja holds great significance as it honors the victory of Goddess Durga over the buffalo demon Mahishasura. The festival serves as a reminder of the triumph of good over evil and the establishment of righteousness. During this time, devotees engage in various rituals, showcasing their dedication to the goddess through elaborate celebrations.

In preparation for the festival, devotees make significant arrangements before Ghatshtapana, ensuring that all festivities are in place. Special foods are prepared, and many observe strict fasts throughout the nine days to please Maa Durga.

This festival not only symbolizes the fierce battle between Maa Durga and Mahishasura but also imparts an important lesson about resilience against negative energies. It emphasizes the importance of worshipping the feminine energy to protect oneself from evil spirits and negativity. Devotees believe that sincere worship of Goddess Durga brings protection and blessings against malevolent forces.
