Bhubaneshwar: In Odisha on Saturday morning, earthquake tremors caused panic among people. According to the information, earthquake shocks occurred in Berhampur area on Saturday morning. The earthquake records a magnitude of 3.8 on the Richter scale. Apart from Odisha, earthquake tremors have also been felt in Assam. However, there is no news of the loss of life or property in both places. According to the Department of Seismology, there was an earthquake in Odisha's Berhampur at 7.10 am. The epicentre of the quake is said to be located around 73 km from West-South-West (WSW) of Berhampur. No deaths have been reported from the 3.8 magnitude earthquake on the Richter scale yet. Apart from Odisha, there was an earthquake in Sonitpur in the northeastern state of Assam. The time of the earthquake is 5.26 am. Its intensity was reported 3.5 on the Richter scale. In many parts of the country, the incidence of earthquakes has increased a lot in the past. From Delhi-NCR to Gujarat, Jammu and Kashmir, Himachal Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, earthquake shocks also occurred. However, in most cases of earthquakes in all places, it has been less than 4 on the Richter scale. Experts believe that earthquakes of less than magnitude 5 are not very dangerous. However, other experts say that small earthquake tremors is a wake-up call.
