Patna: The Election Commission has canceled the by-election for the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha seat due to worsening condition of Kovid infection and floods in Bihar. Apart from this, the Commission has canceled the by-elections in 8 assembly and Lok Sabha constituencies of different states of the country. According to the Election Commission, conducting elections in the event of corona infection can be a big threat to health and safety. Also, in many states where the flood situation is maintained, the district administration is doing relief and rescue work. There, millions of people have been displaced due to floods. Know where the by-elections were postponed: By- elections are going to be held in the Valmikinagar Lok Sabha seat of Bihar. Apart from this, by-elections were also to be held in Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh on 2-2 seats and in Assam, Kerala and Madhya Pradesh on 1-1 seats. Most of these seats have become vacant due to the death of the people's representatives. According to the Election Commission, a total of 56 assembly seats and one Lok Sabha seat were to be held. The by-elections in 8 seats have been stopped. Seats to be filled within six months: According to the information received, the seat vacancy was to be done by holding a by-election on such seats within 6 months. Here the time limit of 6 months is ending between July and September. Seeing this, when the Election Commission reviewed the situation for a by-election, it found that the situation here was getting worse. This is why it is becoming difficult to meet the time limit of 6 months. After which the Commission approached the Union Law Ministry to postpone the by-elections.
