Delhi-Varanasi elevated railway track to run at high speed

New Delhi: A separate elevated track will be prepared to connect PM Narendra Modi's constituency Varanasi from the national capital New Delhi. There will also be an underground railway line in someplace. Trains would be running at a maximum speed of 320 kmph on this track. The light detection and ranging (Lidar) survey will be conducted by helicopter from 13th December. The technique's survey of 800 km. will be completed in 12 weeks, while a similar humanitarian survey takes up to one year.

The track will be prepared in such a way that not only Kanpur but Lucknow can also be connected. There will also be some stations. This is a very early process. Thereafter, the survey report will be sent to the Ministry of Railways. After sanction, DPR will form and the tendering process begins. The work is being done by national High-Speed Rail Corporation Limited (NHSRCL), an institution working under the Ministry of Railways.

Let's tell you that Lidar technology is basically based on laser lights and sensors. This technology has already been used in the survey of the Mumbai-Ahmedabad high-speed rail corridor. The survey data is very accurate. The helicopter is fitted with sophisticated high-resolution cameras. Work is done based on laser data, GPS data, flight parameters and information obtained from actual photos.
