Leading LGBT icon and English rock singer Elton John's biopic 'Rocketman' gets a new release date. The film was earlier scheduled to release on May 17 but will now release on May 31, 2019. The titular role in the movie will be portrayed by Welsh actor Taron Egerton who is famed for his action-packed roles in 2014’s Kingsman: The Secret Service and 2017’s Kingsman: The Golden Circle. The film will follow the rock icon's journey from Royal Academy of Music to his rise in the world of rock 'n' roll during the '70s and '80s. The movie is reported to be scripted by renowned scriptwriter Lee Hall and the script is also supposed to narrate the story of his battle with drug and alcohol addiction and eventual recovery that subsequently lead to a glorious international superstardom. Reportedly Taron Egerton will also be lending his voice to the movie’s soundtrack. Directed by Dexter Fletcher, the cast also includes Richard Madden, Jamie Bell, Gemma Jones and Bryce Dallas Howard. Notably, Taron Egerton has shared the screen with Elton John in the 2017 movie Kingsman: The Golden Circle.
