Dubai [United Arab Emirates], July 04 (NT): A well known Dubai-based Emirates Airlines announced that it has decided to withdraw the 'Hindu meal' option. In an official statement, the mega Emirates carrier said the decision to discontinue the aforesaid option from its in-flight menu was taken following an evaluation of the onboard products and services. "As part of our continuous review of the products and services available to customers, Emirates can confirm that it will discontinue the Hindu meal option. We constantly review our offering, taking into consideration customer uptake and feedback. This helps us improve service efficiencies," the released statement read. However, the airline stated that Hindu passengers would still be able to decide from a variety of both vegetarian and non-vegetarian regionally-inspired meals. Worth mention here Most mega airlines give this option for the sake of transparency for non-vegetarians who do not prefer to eat beef or pork. Air India and Singapore flight carriers have special meals titled ‘religious’ in their menu. It is noted that Emirates is also providing meal options catering to a number of health and dietary necessities. According to the reports Emirates would offer a number of meal options such as Vegetarian Jain Meal, Indian Vegetarian Meal, Kosher meal and Non-Beef non-vegetarian options as well for its vegetarian travelers.
