Edappadi K. Palaniswami, commonly known as EPS is celebrating his 69th birthday on May 12, 2023. Palaniswami is an Indian politician and a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party. He served as the Chief Minister of the Indian state of Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2021. He served as the 7th chief minister of Tamil Nadu, from 2017 to 2021. Edappadi K. Palaniswami is a legendary politician from India who served as the 13th Chief Minister of the southern state of Tamil Nadu from 2017 to 2021. He was a member of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (AIADMK) party and succeeded O. Panneerselvam as Chief Minister after the latter resigned from the position. Palaniswami has been a member of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly since 1989 and has held several positions in the state government, including Minister for Highways, Public Works and Minor Ports, and Minister for Rural Development and Local Administration. During his tenure as Chief Minister, Palaniswami focused on improving infrastructure, agriculture, and social welfare programs in Tamil Nadu. Following the resignation of O. Panneerselvam, who had been appointed chief minister following the passing of former chief minister J. Jayalalithaa, who had won the 2016 Legislative Assembly election as the AIADMK's nominee for chief minister, Palaniswami was appointed chief minister of Tamil Nadu in February 2017. On February 16, 2017, he and his 32-member cabinet were sworn in in front of a gathering of party members. Along with the other portfolios typically held by Chief Ministers and not stated elsewhere, Palaniswami also oversees the Home, Prohibition, and Excise Departments. He was chosen in the Edappadi district. He established several programmes, like the Kudimaramaththu Work, the FAME India Programme, and the Amma Patrol in Tamil Nadu, to ensure the safety of women and children in public areas.
