Even after West Bengal CM opposed, UP CM Yogi Adityanath finally reaches Purulia to address a BJP rally

Kolkata:On Tuesday evening, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath finally reaches Purulia to address a Bharatiya Janata Party rally in Mamata Banerjee's home turf West Bengal. West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's administration denied landing permissions to Yogi Adityanath and a number of other BJP leaders including Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Shahnawaz Hussain.

Previously, Adityanath addressed a 'Gantantra Bachao' rally in South Dinajpur through an audio link. Adityanath said that "Mamata ji must accept that one should not misuse the administration in a democracy. The manner in which the administration in West Bengal is functioning should not be acceptable at all,".

The Tuesday rally comes on the backdrop of a massive political showdown between Mamata Banerjee and CBI. Banerjee sat on a 'Save the Constitution' dharna after the CBI attempted to arrest Kolkata Police Commissioner Rajeev Kumar in the Saradha chit fund case. The attempt was foiled by the state police. In a setback to Banerjee, the Supreme Court, on Tuesday, said that Kumar must make himself available to the central investigation agency.
