The Economically Weaker Section (EWS) was introduced to support the forward caste students who are economically low. During its introduction, the government said the existing reservation under OBC, SC, ST will not be affected with EWS but a current recruitment notification issued by IBPs, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection has said it differently. The 10% to EWS has been managed by reducing 2% from SC, 1.5% from ST, 6% from OBC reducing unreserved to 49.5 to 40%.
