Explosion at Ordnance Factory in Bhandara Maharashtra, Five Dead

BHANDARA (Maharashtra): A blast took place at the Ordnance Factory in Jawahar Nagar, Bhandara, Maharashtra, around 10 am today, as reported by the district control room. Initial reports suggest that several workers at the site have sustained severe injuries. Authorities, including the fire and police departments, along with the tehsildar and other relevant officials, have arrived at the scene.

At least five people are feared dead following the explosion at the factory in Bhandara district on Friday morning, an official confirmed. Rescue operations are currently underway.

Medical and rescue teams have been dispatched to help any survivors, according to a spokesperson from the defense department. Sanjay Kolte, the district collector, stated that the explosion occurred around 10:30 am on the factory premises.

 

 

"After the blast at the Ordnance Factory in Jawahar Nagar, Bhandara, firefighters and ambulances were immediately sent to the location. Rescue operations are ongoing. A roof has collapsed, and efforts to remove it are being made with the help of a JCB. A total of 12 people were at the site, and 2 people have already been rescued," said Collector Sanjay Kolte, as per reports.

As of now, there are no updates on the exact number of casualties, the official added.
