New Delhi: A video went viral on social media alleging that a Muslim elderly man was forcibly beaten up and called 'Jai Shri Ram' in Ghaziabad, Uttar Pradesh. Muslim elderly man accuses 4 unidentified persons of beating and forcibly shaving. The elderly man claimed that he was kidnapped and taken to a house in a deserted area where 'Jai Shri Ram' was called. It may be recalled that there has always been a race in a section of the media and politics to defame Hindu symbols.

Once again, AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi and AltNews's Zubair took the initiative to defame 'Jai Shri Ram'. Owaisi posted the video without any investigation saying that attacking the elderly and children in Hindutva is called valour. Owaisi also tagged the National Human Rights Commission and sought a response. He also said that 'Hindu attackers' are always in the crowd, not alone. Posting the video, Owaisi wrote that these people belong to the same ideology and the prestige of Muslims is being snatched away by 'Hindustani goons'. Similarly, Zubair of AltNews shared the news and spread the lie. But, when the police arrested the accused, Kallu and Adil, Zubair did not respond and only described it as a 'latest update from Ghaziabad police'. However, they still hid the names of Arif and Mushahid in their news. In fact, the police have stated the truth about the case and said that the incident took place in June 5, 2021, about which a complaint was lodged with the police after 2 days.

When the police investigated the video going viral on social media, it was found that the victim Abdul Samad had come to Behata on Loni border from Bulandshahr. He along with another person had gone to banthana at the house of the main accused Parvesh Gujjar. Kallu, Poli, Arif, Adil and Mushahid arrived. The elderly Muslim man was assaulted there. According to police, Abdul Samad works as a talisman. The accused say Abdul's amulet adversely affected his family. Abdul Samad had given amulets to many people in the village. The accused already knew him. Police said the main accused has already been arrested. Kallu and Adil are also in police custody. Police have assured that the remaining accused will also be arrested soon.
