Former HDFC Bank MD Aditya Puri buys luxurious apartment in Malabar Hill

The family of Aditya Puri, former managing director of HDFC Bank, has bought a Rs 50 crore luxurious house in Malabar Hill, South Mumbai. Malabar Hills is one of the most posh areas of Mumbai and the new house of the Puri family is close to the Governor's residence. This new home of the Puri family has bought this sea-facing apartment by Aditya Puri's wife Anita Puri and actress daughter Amrita Puri on the 19th floor of the 22-storey Lodha Seamount in Valkeshwar, Malabar Hill. This 4 bedroom apartment has space for 7 vehicles to park and its balcony gives a beautiful view of Marine Drive and Arabian Sea of Mumbai.

Aditya Puri's family has purchased this apartment for Rs 50 crore. According to the house registration data obtained by Zapkey.com, a stamp duty of Rs 1 crore has been paid for purchasing it. Local Brokers told Moneycontrol that the carpet area of this house could be 3800 to 4000 square feet.

In order to give relief to the moaning real estate caused by COVID-19, Maharashtra Government has reduced the stamp duty on the purchase of the house from 5% to 2% by 31 December 2020. From January 1, 2021, 3% stamp duty is to be paid on purchasing the house. People are buying expensive and luxury homes in South Mumbai to take advantage of 3% discount on stamp duty.
