Chandigarh: Farmer leader Sarwan Singh Pandher has announced upcoming mahapanchayats in Jind on September 15 and Pipli on September 22, continuing the farmer's agitation that began on February 13 in Delhi. Pandher accused the central government of misusing agencies and claimed that the BJP is intimidated by the ongoing protests. Pandher reported that farmers have been camping at the Shambhu border near Ambala since February 13, despite heavy police deployment and significant injuries, including the death of Shubhkaran Singh. He criticized the government's use of central agencies, including recent NIA raids on BKU leader Sukhwinder Kaur's home, as an attempt to undermine the protest. He stated that the protests will persist until their demands are met, including the opening of the border to advance towards Delhi. Pandher also mentioned that Vinesh Phogat will join the protests and emphasized that new announcements will be made as they mark 200 days of protest. Additionally, the Supreme Court has instructed Haryana and Punjab to propose neutral individuals for a committee to negotiate with the farmers.
