Farmers' Agitation: Mahapanchayat organized will be held in sports stadium of Kandela

New Delhi: The farmers' agitation continues against the agricultural laws of the central government. Meanwhile, Bharatiya Kisan Union (BKU) leader Rakesh Tikait will take part in farmers' mahapanchayat in the Jind district of Haryana on Wednesday in favor of the movement against the new agricultural laws of the center. Tekram Kandela, the head of the all-inclusive Kandela Khap, said on Tuesday that adequate arrangements have been made in Kandela village in Jind for the program.

Along with Tikait, many Khap leaders will also join it. Kandela said that this would be a huge gathering to support the farmers' movement. Kandela Khap, who ran the farmers' movement in Haryana nearly two decades ago, has given his support to the farmers against the agricultural laws. The second Khap has also supported the movement. Tekram Kandela said Wednesday's program would demand repeal of agricultural laws and a legal guarantee on the minimum support price (MSP).

Nonetheless, Haryana BKU leader Gurnam Singh Chaduni reached Surewala Chowk in Uklana in Hisar district and addressed the farmers. He called for block national and state highways for three hours by farmer unions on 6 February. Chadhuni condemned the imposition of big blockers to prevent entry into Ghazipur, one of the main sites of the farmers' movement.
