Farmers protest: Farmers consuming special drink 'Sardai' for energy

New Delhi: Today is the 12th day of the farmers' protest on the Sindhu border of Delhi-Haryana. The protesting farmers have made good arrangements for food and drink here. Langers are being run in many places. Now farmers are making Sardai, a special drink of Punjab.

Sardai is a popular drink of Punjab in winter. It is prepared by grinding almonds, poppy seeds, black pepper, cardamom. Farmers say that it brings heat to the body and it is also very nutritious. Everyday agitating farmers sitting on dharna are drinking this drink. Pestle is used to grind almonds, poppy seeds, black pepper, cardamom. Farmer Gurmej Singh says that we make daily Sardai for the farmers sitting on the dharna in the same way so that their body can stay warm in cold weather and they get energy. Gurmej Singh said that if their demands are not met then the agitation will go on.

The agitating peasants say that during the war, Sardai was given so that the energy of the soldiers would remain maintained and the war could be fought properly. Here the same kind of Sardi is being made.
